On 8th November, elections will be held in the United States: legislative races will be conducted in 46 states and governor races will be held in 36. The number of state-level legislative seats that will be up for election represents 85% of the nation’s total.
The first part of this report focuses on 23 US states, largely on those where a change or “flip” of political party control could take place in the forthcoming midterm elections – this could be either in governorship or in one of the legislative chambers. The second part examines likely outcomes of the midterms in all states.
